I am a lifelong conservative, and I believe every vote matters and every penny counts in government. These principles guide how I will approach the role of Auditor by getting the details right, following the process every time, and making sure the results can be verified and trusted.
Public funds should be handled carefully and accounted for at every step. Spending should follow the approved budget, and financial records should be accurate, consistent, and easy to understand.
Government should operate efficiently, stay within its defined role, and focus on doing its job well. Processes should be clear, consistent, and not create unnecessary barriers for the public.
Elections should be conducted accurately, securely, and in accordance with the law. Voter registration records should be accurate, ballots should be safeguarded, and every lawful vote should be counted.
Citizens should have clear and reliable access to participate in government, including the ability to vote and access public information. Processes should be consistent and easy to understand so people can engage with confidence.
Laws and procedures must be applied fairly, consistently, and without bias. They should be followed as written, with decisions based on the law and applied equally to everyone.
Every ballot must be handled carefully and accounted for at every step. From the time it is issued to the time it is counted, there should be a clear, documented process that keeps it secure and properly tracked.
What I will do:
Maintain strict chain-of-custody procedures so ballots are logged, secured, and accounted for at every step.
Keep election observation open and accessible so representatives from all parties can see how ballots are handled and counted.
Increase visibility into the process through available tools and, where appropriate, live monitoring of ballot handling and counting.
Maintain clear records and documentation so election results can be verified and trusted by the public.
Voter registration has to be accurate. When records are outdated or inconsistent, it creates confusion and weakens confidence. Keeping voter rolls clean and current is a basic part of running elections the right way.
What I will do:
Maintain accurate voter registration records by removing outdated or duplicate entries and keeping information current.
Protect voter data so the system is reliable and only lawful votes are counted.
Support clear voter information and straightforward registration processes so eligible residents can register and participate.
Voters should have clear and reliable information when making decisions. The voter pamphlet and related materials should be accurate, fair, and easy to understand.
What I will do:
Make sure the voter pamphlet is complete and candidates are presented in a consistent and fair way.
Work with candidates to encourage timely submission of photos and information so voters have what they need.
Provide clear and accessible voter information so residents can make informed choices in every election.
The numbers have to be right. County spending, payroll, and financial records depend on systems that are accurate and consistently checked. When something is off, even slightly, it doesn’t stay small for long.
What I will do:
Conduct regular audits of county claims, payroll, and disbursements to catch issues early and make sure public funds are being used properly.
Provide clear, easy-to-understand financial reports so taxpayers can see where their money is going without sorting through complicated documents.
Work with county officials to make sure spending follows the approved budget and that financial records match what is actually happening.
Most people don’t think about the Auditor’s Office until they need it. Registering to vote, getting a title, or accessing a public record should be straightforward and easy to use. When those processes don’t work well, people feel it immediately.
What I will do:
Improve processes in the Auditor’s Office to reduce wait times and make services easier to access, including online and mail-in options where appropriate.
Make sure staff are trained, professional, and responsive so residents can get clear answers and timely help when they need it.
Monitor performance and listen to feedback to continually improve how services are delivered and how people experience the office.
Public records aren’t just paperwork. They represent people’s homes, their investments, and their financial security. When something is wrong, it doesn’t stay on paper. It can delay a sale, create legal issues, or affect someone’s ability to move forward.
What I will do:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records so property and ownership information can be relied on when it matters most.
Make sure records are clearly indexed and easy to find and understand.
Expand online access where possible so residents can get the information they need without unnecessary delays or barriers.
Grant County deserves a government that gets the details right and does the job correctly every time. Elections, public records, and county finances should be handled with accuracy, consistency, and accountability.
With your support, I will bring that standard to the Auditor’s Office. Every vote counts. Every penny matters.
